Listen to the soundtrack of Primavera Pro 2022: a playlist to travel around the world

- The international meeting of the music sector will bring together 28 artists from 10 countries between the 2nd and 12th June.

The showcase begins. For Primavera Pro 2022 an infinite playlist has been created to travel around Europe, Latin America and Asia together with different emerging and established international artists. Fasten your seatbelt or plug in your headphones, let the journey begin.

From 2nd to 12th June, we will be able to dance, like back in the good old days, to 28 artists from 10 different countries. All this will be possible at the Day Pro stage of the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB), open to accredited artists and the general public, and also for those attending Primavera Sound in the Fòrum, where the Night Pro stage will be located. There will also be several showcases at Primavera a la Ciutat programme. Shall we go through the list?

Austria: From guitars to indie pop

Austrian Heartbeats is bringing two of the bands that are already making a name for themselves in Austria to Barcelona. My Ugly Clementine, a band formed by 4 people who get together to do what they love most; play post-punk and vindicate themselves. They will be joined by ANGER with their breezy indie pop, which will be perfect in this weather.

Brazil: The beauty of feelings

The collaboration between Bananada, Nomade Festival Brazil and Primavera Pro is marked by three bands who have something in common, they have been reflecting. Three bands that have been born and raised in the pandemic situation we have lived through will come to Barcelona, with very different proposals. We will hear the nostalgic sound of Bala Desejo, the positivity of PLUMA and the intimate melodies of Tuyo.

Catalan Arts: Pure local talent

As has become a tradition, the Primavera Pro 2022 welcome party will be hosted by Catalan Arts, the internationalisation brand of the Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals (ICEC), with a botifarrada in the CCCB's Pati de les Dones. In the afternoon of Wednesday 6th June, you will be able to enjoy three of the most up-and-coming artists on the Catalan scene: Ariox, with her pleasant bedroom pop, the queer electronica of Bonitx and the sharp lyrics of Julieta. In addition, Primavera a la Ciutat will also feature all the dance hits of The Free Fall Band.

Primavera Labels: Experience is a factor

Primavera Labels will also join the Catalan scene. Representing them will be the Argentinian and Barcelona-based group STA. With 15 years of career behind them, they can now be considered masters of dub.

Chile: A variety of sounds for the good weather

The rich and diverse music of Chile will also be back at Primavera Pro thanks to its alliance with Chilemúsica. The stage will be filled with a Chilean aroma of psychedelic rock mixed with the tribal rhythms of Spiral Vortex, the electro pop keyboards of Entrópica and the pure and fresh hip hop of Matiah Chinaski y DJ Pere.

Basque Music: Two powerful auras are on their way

Our neighbours from BASQUE. MUSIC. have prepared a celebratory cocktail. They will bring to Barcelona the ecstatic shamanic presence of MICE and the post-folk magic of Eneritz Furyak. And we are totally looking forward to seeing them.

Greece: Creating horizons

The proposal of Gre.Ex Music Office / Music Export Greece for this edition of Primavera Pro is clear, and crossing styles is no problem. Combining electronic with classical, Theodore will set the mood with his 80s post-rock and synth-wave. And the Greek-American singer Leon of Athens will create different soundscapes to accompany you in the good times.

Ireland: It's all in the mix

From the green island comes Music From Ireland with a portfolio full of good artists. Andlots of them. This year, they will be accompanied by: Pastiche and the poppiest sparkle of Dublin, Bobbi Arlo with her combination of fierce and sassy talent, the neo-soul hits of Tomike, the brilliant raw noises of M(h)aol and the Made In Cork art-punk of Pretty Happy.

Italy: Tranquility and good taste

The communion between Puglia Sounds, Italia Music Export and Emilia Romagna Music Export has resulted in a trio of artists who deserve to be heard. Barcelona will welcome the melancholy of Her Skin, the sweet fragility of KOKO and the electronic peace of Nother.

Lithuania: Music no shame

This year the Lithuanian music business association brings one of those bands that embody the purest riot grrl style and that will make you scream and shout; shishi. As they themselves say: 'Our music is perfect for people who care about what's going on, even if they don't really know what's going on'.

Taiwan: the personality is in the lyrics

Taiwan will be the representative of the Asian continent this year, thanks to 9-kick, LUCfest, Ministry of Culture, Taiwan, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Spain. We will get to know the edgy positive rhymes of Trout Fresh and the lyrics of folk singer-songwriter Lücy, with her personal journal that transports you to her beautiful inner world.

The showcases, in figures

Primavera Pro's commitment to show the greatest possible diversity on stage has always been a fundamental basis when thinking about the programme. At the microphone and on the instruments, this year we will have a total of 11 singers and bands formed exclusively by women (39,29% of the total). In addition, we have two queer bands and five mixed gender bands. This means that 19 of the 28 bands, 67,86% of the total, are made up of women and/or people who are part of the LGTBI collective. Because we are not here to create quotas or equalities, we are here to represent reality.
